The GDS 550 Trigger Survey System is operated in conjunction with a portable flame ionisation detector and designed to collect and monitor a continuous representative sample of the atmosphere traversed by the survey vehicle. The system filters unwanted higher hydrocarbons from the sample and provides an audible and visual alarm to methane levels above a pre-set threshold. The GDS 550 is a one man survey system and was originally designed to meet the changing demands and strategies of British Gas Transco and other gas network providers.
The complete system can be fitted to any normal vehicle within a matter of minutes. The lightweight boom is fastened to the front valance, the trigger kit and FID unit being securely retained on the front passenger seat using the vehicle safety belt. |
