Field Service Administrator

Job position: Field Service Administrator

Job location: Garforth, West Yorkshire

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join GDS Technologies, a leading manufacturer of fixed gas detection equipment, in our busy and expanding Field Service department. This is a full-time, permanent role supporting the Field Service Manager, ensuring customers receive a smooth and efficient service, responding diligently to requests for quotes, service, installation, and commissioning.

About the role:

  • Provide support to the Field Service Manager
  • Provide support to Field Service Technicians with information, changes and re-scheduling
  • Provide direct support to all customers by phone or email, with excellent communication and problem solving
  • Schedule monthly routine service visits, including ad-hoc visits, with the ability to review and make changes where or when necessary. Achieving maximum planning efficiency.
  • Use CRM to generate daily service reports, prepare and upload RAMS, add detailed and accurate information for meticulous record keeping.
  • Ensuring accuracy of service-related documentation, including but not limited to processing service orders and invoices.
  • Schedule training for technicians
  • Maintain stock availability, ensuring all parts and equipment available for each task scheduled.
  • Document and maintain service department processes.
  • Liaise with all departments across the Company.
  • Creating agenda for service meeting and recording of minutes.

About you:

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • Experience in a similar role, providing administration support to a field service team
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office, in particular Outlook, Excel, with experience using Microsoft Dynamics CRM; in addition, some knowledge of Sage 50/200 would be beneficial.
  • Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Detail oriented, methodical, and focused.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good geographical knowledge an advantage


  • Experience within the gas detection industry or closely related discipline e.g., a manufacturing environment

Location: Garforth, West Yorkshire

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Working schedule: Monday to Friday 08.30-17.00 (38.75 hours per week)

Salary: £20-24K depending on experience
